Causes We Love

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana

For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 8 through 18, in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.

For the past several years, Keenan has been involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, serving as a Big Brother and working with their development department.

Indianapolis Association of Wabash Men

Keenan remains an active member of the Indianapolis Association of Wabash Men, which serves the largest concentration of Wabash College alumni located in the Indianapolis metropolitan area. This constitutes around 2,000 alumni or nearly 20% of all alumni. The IAWM board encompasses a broad generational, geographical, and professional diversity. Annually, we sponsor several diverse and exciting events and services for the Wabash community.

Miles for Myeloma

Founded in 1990, the International Myeloma Foundation (IMF) is the first and largest organization focusing specifically on multiple myeloma. The IMF is dedicated to improving the quality of life of myeloma patients while working toward prevention and a cure through our four founding principles: Research, Education, Support, and Advocacy.

Keenan is a proud supporter of the Miles for Myeloma 5K Walk/Run.

Northwestern Mutual Indiana’s Government Relations Delegate

We are deeply engaged in efforts to protect the interests of policyowners, clients, and our company as Congressional debate continue on a number of issues that could impact the industry. Educating legislators about the importance of long-term financial security planning is essential

As Northwestern Mutual Indiana’s Government Relations Delegate, Keenan meets with their elected Hoosier officials to educate them on how the financial industry offers a solution to the country’s financial security challenges.

Not Impossible Labs

Northwestern Mutual and Not Impossible Labs empower people to live their best lives every single day. We’ve embarked on a project that, through disruptive technology and impactful innovation, helps people live their lives to the fullest—especially those with Parkinson’s; a disease that often seems impossible to overcome.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

Keenan and the team are proud to partner with Northwestern Mutual to raise money for childhood cancer research through Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF). ALSF emerged from the front-yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004).

In 2000, four-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation has evolved into a national fundraising movement.

Northwestern Mutual has raised more than $17 million for the cause, helped fund 220,000 hours of research, and provided support services to many families and children.
